As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines for IJMPT

1. General Requirements

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously, and are not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct, and academic English (American or British, but consistent throughout). Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to use professional proofreading services before submission.

  • Word Count: Research articles should typically be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.

  • Plagiarism Policy: All submissions will be screened using similarity-checking software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate). The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20% (excluding quotes and references).

2. Manuscript Structure Submitted manuscripts should follow the IMRAD format (Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion) and be organized as follows:

  • Title: Concise and informative (maximum 15 words). Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.

  • Author Details: Full names, institutional affiliations, country, email address of the corresponding author, and ORCID iD for all authors.

  • Abstract: A single paragraph of 150–250 words summarizing the research purpose, methodology, main findings, and pedagogical/technological implications. Do not include citations in the abstract.

  • Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords separated by semicolons (e.g., Artificial Intelligence; Didactical Situations; Ethnomathematics; Problem-Solving).

  • Introduction: Clearly state the research background, review of related literature, the research gap, and the specific objectives or research questions.

  • Methodology: Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Describe the research design, participants, data collection instruments (and their validation), and data analysis techniques.

  • Results: Present the findings clearly and logically. Use tables and figures effectively without duplicating the text.

  • Discussion: Interpret the results in light of the research questions and existing literature. Highlight the pedagogical and technological significance of the findings. Discuss any limitations of the study.

  • Conclusion: Summarize the main points and provide practical recommendations for mathematics educators or future researchers.

  • Declarations:

    • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work.

    • Funding: List any funding sources for the research.

    • AI Usage Statement: (Crucial for this journal) Authors must declare if Artificial Intelligence (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) was used in the writing process or data analysis. AI cannot be listed as a co-author.

  • References: Must strictly follow the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition style. We highly recommend using reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

3. Formatting Requirements

  • File Format: Submit the manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Font and Spacing: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing throughout the document.

  • Tables and Figures: Must be embedded in the text (not placed at the end of the document), numbered consecutively, and include descriptive captions.
